G C Spitteler Memorial Trophy
for Middle Distance
In the 1976/77 season, Mrs Desleigh Spitteler, then serving as club Secretary, recognised the need to encourage middle-distance athletes and donated a trophy in memory of her late husband, who had been a talented athlete.
The G.C. Spitteler Memorial Trophy for Middle Distance was first awarded in 1976 and was shared by two athletes, Lyn James and Megan Post.
